Dance artists Marika Peura and Kaisa Nieminen have known each other for 18 years. [pʌls] draws its material from that friendship and the matching of personal chemistries. The performance is based on improvisation, how the artists' bodies and movement meet in relationship with the music improvised live by Felix Zenger.
Marika Peura and Kaisa Nieminen are freestyle dancers of hiphop, waacking and house. They are part of the Cleva crew that has performed plenty in Finland and abroad. The Crew also organizes the Nordic Soul Festival, focused on urban dance. The festival was organised for the first time in Helsinki in 2014. Currently, Peura is completing her BA degree in Dance at the Theatre Academy Helsinki. She spent her second study year as an exchange student in Berlin. Nieminen will begin MA studies in choreography in Berlin this coming fall.
Felix Zenger is a beatbox artist from Helsinki. The world’s first Beatboxing degree at Helsinki Pop & Jazz Conservatory gave new ideas to his artistic experiments. During the past years Zenger got his international breakthrough by performing with world-famous artists such as Pharrell’s N*E*R*D. Zenger is the most watched Finn on YouTube with almost 40 million views.
